UMAR ADAMU TSOHO (DIRECTOR STEEL AND NON-FERROUS METALS)
PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND:
Umar Adamu Tsoho is an accomplished geologist and seasoned public servant with a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology and Mining from the University of Jos, obtained in 1992. He began his career in 1994 as a Steel Officer II and has risen through the ranks to become the Director of the Steel and Non-Ferrous Metals Department. Over the years, he has actively participated in several national committees and technical workshops aimed at revitalizing Nigeria’s steel industry, including key initiatives at the Ajaokuta Steel Company Limited (ASCL).
RECENT ACHIEVEMENTS AND CONTRIBUTIONS:
Integrity Award (2021): Honored by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) for saving the Federal Government over ₦90 billion by preventing a major contractor claim at ASCL.
Presidential Public Service Merit Award (2022): Recognized for outstanding and exceptional service to the nation.
Leadership Roles: As Acting Director, he has been pivotal in implementing the department's mandate with dedication and integrity.
Team Management: Oversees a highly skilled team, ensuring smooth, coordinated, and efficient departmental operations.
